Taranakipine is an established New Zealand sawmill in the Taranaki region, specialising in processing radiata pine. The company supplies national and international markets with high-quality wood products and relies on modern, efficient production processes. After successful sawing trials in 2021, Taranakipine decided on a comprehensive modernisation of its saw filing room with ISELI technology. The aim was to significantly increase the precision and efficiency of saw blade maintenance while optimising production workflows. In November 2023 the new filing room was equipped with five ISELI machines. The installation included an automatic bench station, a stellite tipping unit and CNC grinding machines for precise saw blade processing. A particular challenge was carrying out the project while the sawmill remained in operation. Thanks to detailed planning and close cooperation with the Taranakipine team, the entire installation was completed without any interruption to production. The results are convincing: higher cutting speeds, improved cutting accuracy, cleaner cut surfaces, less rework and fewer blade changes. At the same time, wet grinding improved air quality and made cleaning the filing room easier.
